Resin detail set Aires: engine combustion chambers for the Gloster Meteor F.8/FR.9 (1:32) for Revell kits. A kit accessory — not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail set, not an aircraft model. The set contains finely cast engine combustion chambers for the Gloster Meteor F.8/FR.9 model in 1:32 scale and is designed for kits by Revell. It is made by Aires, a Czech specialist in resin detail sets. The cast chambers replace the corresponding plastic parts and give the inside of the engine nacelle an accurate, richly detailed look – especially worthwhile where the engine is partly visible on the finished model.
The Gloster Meteor was the first British jet fighter to see combat. The F.8 was the main single-seat day-fighter version, while the FR.9 was a fighter-reconnaissance variant. The Meteor was powered by two jet engines mounted in wing nacelles, and it is precisely their internal structure that this set addresses.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with dish soap so no release agent remains on the surface. Cut away the casting blocks and supports with a sharp knife or a fine saw – do not snap them off. Sand the cut surfaces always with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting; bring out the inside of the engine with metal tones, a wash and light dry-brushing.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package. When sanding resin, use a respirator and ventilate the area.
