Brass Rod Cutter are Madworks nippers intended for brass and copper rod up to 2 mm in diameter. They cut dry, without deforming the end of the rod.
Responsibility details are not available.
Nippers for brass and copper rod from the Taiwanese brand Madworks, designed for diameters up to 2 mm. Ordinary modeling nippers for plastic are too fine for metal, and a single squeeze on brass nicks their cutting edge for good. These nippers have jaws built for metal, so they cut the rod off short and without the end being squeezed into an oval.
The stated diameter is a limit, not a challenge: harder material or thicker rod will chip the cutting edge and the nippers are ruined. Do not give them steel wire, strings or springs at all. Always cut close to the axis of the jaws, not with the tip, and hold the rod so that the cut-off end does not fly away. Wipe the jaws after work and put a drop of oil into the joint now and then. The end of the rod is sharp after cutting, so level it with a file before you glue it.
For modelers who work with metal rod and tube: aircraft antennas, gun barrels, railings on ships, lines in engine bays. The manufacturer has a variant for thicker material in the same range, so if you cut rod over 2 mm, choose that one. Rod and tube are not included in the package.
