Madworks D.L.C. Line Engraver 0.15 mm

A scriber from the D.L.C. line by the Taiwanese brand Madworks. The blade carries a DLC coating (Diamond-like Carbon), which increases hardness, reduces friction and improves resistance to wear. The blade width of 0.15 mm is among the finer variants and engraves thin, clean panel lines.

What it is for

The scriber serves for engraving and restoring panel lines and grooves. The width of the blade determines the width of the resulting groove, which is why the manufacturer offers a range of thicknesses and you choose the one that matches the scale and the depth of the detail. It suits plastic (ABS and PVC), resin and epoxy models. It is a blade on its own, which you clamp into a compatible handle. Under ordinary use the blade will last two years and more.

Usage tips

• Guide the blade along the contour of the surface and do not press hard.
• Engrave the line with repeated light strokes rather than one deep one.
• Use guide tape or a template for straight lines.
