Madworks D.L.C. Line Engraver 0.2 mm

A scriber from the D.L.C. range by the Taiwanese brand Madworks. The blade has a DLC coating (Diamond-like Carbon), which increases hardness, reduces friction and improves resistance to wear. The 0.2 mm blade width is the all-round choice for ordinary panel lines in the medium scales.

What it is for

The scriber is used for engraving and restoring panel lines and grooves. The width of the blade determines the width of the resulting groove, which is why the manufacturer offers a whole range of thicknesses and you choose the one that matches the scale of the model. It is suitable for plastic (ABS/PVC), resin and epoxy models. It is a blade on its own, which you clamp into a compatible handle. In normal use the blade will last two years or more.

Usage tips

• Lead the blade along the contour of the surface and do not press hard.
• Engrave the line with repeated light strokes, not with a single deep one.
• Use a guide tape or a template for straight lines.
