Madworks D.L.C. Line Engraver 0.5 mm

A scriber from the D.L.C. range by the Taiwanese brand Madworks. The blade has a DLC coating (Diamond-like Carbon), which raises hardness, lowers friction and improves resistance to wear. The blade width of 0.5 mm is the widest in this range and engraves bold, deep lines for large scales.

What it is for

The scriber serves for engraving and restoring panel lines and grooves. The width of the blade sets the width of the resulting groove: the manufacturer offers a whole range of thicknesses, and you choose the one that matches the scale and the depth of detail. It is suitable for use on plastic (ABS or PVC), resin and epoxy models. This is a blade on its own, which you clamp into a compatible holder. In ordinary use a blade will last two years and more.

Usage tips

• Guide the blade along the contour of the surface and do not press hard.
• Engrave the line with repeated light strokes, not one deep one.
• Use guide tape or a template for straight lines.
