Water-slide decals in 1:24 scale from the Japanese brand Studio27. They reproduce the complete livery of the Porsche 962 C in the colors of the Ba-Tsu sponsor from the 1989 Japanese Sports Prototype Championship (JSPC): sponsor lettering, race numbers and small markings. The print has fine registration and the minimum of carrier film, and a placement diagram is usually enclosed.

The real subject and the livery

The Porsche 962 C was the leading Group C prototype with a turbocharged flat-six. In Japan it formed the backbone of the JSPC grid, where private and works teams alike entered cars in colorful sponsor liveries. The Ba-Tsu livery from the 1989 season is one such striking Japanese scheme.

Applying the decals

• Coat the surface with gloss clear coat, so that the decal adheres well and no silvering bubbles form.
• Dip the decal briefly in lukewarm water and slide it off the backing onto the moistened spot.
• Adjust the position and pull it down onto the shapes with softening and setting solutions.
• Once dry, spray over it with protective clear coat to match the gloss of the car.
