This is a standalone decal set in 1:24 scale, not a kit. It holds water-slide decals with the racing livery of the Mercedes SLS AMG entered in the German VLN endurance series in 2011, and it is meant to bring the matching plastic kit of the car to life.

The real subject and the livery

The Mercedes SLS AMG was a German sports car with its characteristic gullwing doors, and its racing versions started at the Nürburgring circuit. The set captures the colors from the VLN endurance series for the 2011 season, including the race numbers, the sponsor lettering and the team markings.

Use and tips

Apply the decals to a smooth, gloss and thoroughly dried clear coat. Dip the piece briefly in lukewarm water, move it into place once it comes free of the backing paper and draw the surplus water off. For a perfect fit into the pressings of the body we recommend a decal softener and setting solution; once dry, go over everything with clear coat so that the edges of the carrier film blend into the surface.
