This item is a sheet of water-slide decals from the Japanese Studio27, a brand renowned precisely for quality markings for racing cars. So that there is no mistake: this is not a kit. There are no plastic parts in the package and you have to own the model of the Ferrari 308 GTB in 1:24 scale or buy it separately. The sheet exists because an ordinary kit as a rule offers one or two color variants, yet a racing car ran plenty of events and looked different in each of them. The real subject: a Ferrari as a rally special

A Ferrari in rallying is a rarity that fascinates fans to this day. The Group 4 308 GTB cars were built by the Michelotto workshop in Padua and in the Italian championships they became unexpectedly strong rivals of the lightweight Lancias and Porsches, as the turbocharged world of rallying met a naturally aspirated V8 in the middle here. It was just such a car that started in 1980 at the Rally Piancavallo in the Italian region of Friuli: a Ferrari 308 GTB of the Jolly Club stable with race number 4, in the livery of the sponsor VS Olio Fiat, with the crew of Domenico Grosoli, known as Nico, and Giorgio Barban. The white and blue advertising graphics on a Ferrari are in themselves a good enough reason to build this car, as you will not overlook it at a show.

How to apply the decals

• The base must be glossy. On matte clear coat air is trapped under the film and a silvery rim appears around the decal, as the decal silvers. It is the most common mistake and it ruins even a superbly sprayed body.
• The 308 GTB has curved fenders and sides. So apply the large sponsor areas with decal softener, otherwise the film will not settle on the curve and will make folds.
• Once it is dry, go over the model with clear coat. The decal soaks into the surface, its edge will not be felt under a finger and after polishing the body gets that right wet look.
