The BMW 318i is one of the smaller models of the 3 Series and in its time it became the basis for touring cars of circuit championships. The racing version differs from the production car in its body add-ons, the cage in the cabin and above all the striking color form with partner logos, by which spectators recognized the car even in a fast corner.
The package brings decals in 1:24 scale for the car in the colors of the FINA brand. Besides the race numbers and logos, the sheet tends to hold the small body lettering as well, which gives the finished model credibility at close range. Before buying, compare the scale and the dimensions of the printing with the model you are preparing the decals for.
The base has to be finished gloss clear coat; on matte paint a silvery veil forms under the film. Cut the decal out close to the artwork, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it can be moved over the paper. Slide it into place, line it up with a soft brush and press the water out with a cloth from the center to the edges. On curves and recesses softener helps. Once it is dry, go over the model with a coat so that the edges of the film blend with the color of the body.
For builders of circuit touring cars who want to bring a model to a particular racing form. Given that the target kit is not specified, the set suits a more experienced modeler who is able to measure the printing beforehand. The kit, paints, clear coat and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
