Studio27 1:24 decal sheet: Audi R8 LMS GT3, Nürburgring 2017 is a set of waterslide decals for the Audi R8 LMS GT3 kit from NuNu. It is not a kit: the car model itself is not included in the package.

This is a decal sheet, not a kit. You get a sheet of waterslide decals from the Japanese maker Studio27 with which you re-mark a model you have already built. To use it, you need the Audi R8 LMS GT3 kit in 1:24 scale from NuNu — the sheet is drawn directly for the shape of its bodywork. Paints, glue and plastic parts are not in the package.
The Nürburgring, and above all its Nordschleife, counts as the most demanding circuit in the world: over twenty kilometers, more than seventy corners, a narrow track and guardrails right at the asphalt. The nickname Green Hell is no advertising slogan. In the 24-hour race more than 150 cars start together: fast GT3 machines overtake far slower amateur cars on a blind track, at night, often in rain and fog. The 2017 running was won by the Audi R8 LMS GT3 with race number 29 of the Land Motorsport team — the crew of Kelvin van der Linde, Christopher Mies, Connor De Phillippi and Markus Winkelhock. The model will therefore not be just one of the cars in the field, but the winner.
The basic rule: decals go onto a GLOSS clear coat. On a matte surface air is trapped under the carrier film and the decal starts to silver; it is the most common mistake on circuit models, and on the large area of a door there is no hiding it. The order is primer, body color, gloss clear coat, and only then the decals. On the curved places (fenders, bumper, the seats of the spoilers) use a decal softener — it lets the film settle into the shape and into the panel lines. Finally spray the whole model with clear varnish, which makes the edges of the decals disappear, and polish the surface to a high gloss if you wish, as befits a racing GT3. The body shade has to be mixed by you, because the sheet does not cover the whole surface of the car: the paint under and around the decal has to match, otherwise the join shows at first glance.
This is a separate decal sheet. The car model, the paints, the varnishes and the decal softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
