This is a separate decal sheet from Studio27 in 1:12 scale, intended for the Tamiya Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP plastic kit. It is not a kit — there are no plastic parts in the package, only markings. The motorcycle model has to be bought separately. Studio27 lists this sheet as a Dress Up set, that is additional markings, logos and small lettering for the anniversary color version. Carbon fiber imitations are not included — Studio27 sells those as an entirely separate carbon set.
The CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP is Honda's flagship superbike, and its inline four draws on the technology of the MotoGP program and is tuned for extremely high revs. The anniversary version celebrates 30 years since the original CBR900RR FireBlade of 1992, which is why it returns to the three-color white, red and blue scheme that made the original famous. The anniversary finish also carries special emblems on the tank and a serial designation; it was built in limited numbers.
Decals always belong on a gloss clear coat. On a matte surface air is trapped under the carrier film of the decal and the edges silver — it is the most common mistake on motorcycle models. The tank, the side fairing and the front mask are far more curved than the body of a car, so you cannot do without a decal softener: set the decal, fix it in place and draw it into the shape with the softener. Once dry, spray a coat of clear varnish, which sinks the decal and hides its edge, and finally polish the surface — on a mirror-glossy road machine it shows immediately.
This is a set of decals, not a kit. The model, the paints, the glue, the decal softener and the varnishes are not included in the package.
