Line decal: fluorescent yellow, widths 1 mm, 2 mm and 3 mm

These are not the decals of one particular car and not a kit. It is a general-purpose decorative material – a sheet of long, perfectly straight stripes in fluorescent yellow, in three widths on one sheet (1 mm, 2 mm and 3 mm). You will use it on any model and in any scale – which is why it is not tied to a scale at all.

What it is for

Drawing a perfectly straight thin line with a brush is practically impossible, and masking a 1 mm stripe with tape is hellish work during which the paint likes to creep underneath anyway. A ready-made line decal solves it in a few minutes and the result is sharp along its whole length. The second and even stronger reason: fluorescent paints spray very badly – they have weak covering power, they are translucent and they need a light base and several coats. A ready-made decal gets around this problem completely.

• Dividing lines between two colors where the transition would otherwise look coarse

Practical tips

Cut with a sharp scalpel and always with a new blade – a blunt blade will fray the decal and the edge cannot then be repaired. Measure twice and cut once: a finished line will not shift once it is dry, so measure and mark the position beforehand. The surface has to be smooth and glossy – on matte paint the decal will silver. On curved and rounded surfaces use a decal softener so that the line sucks down to the shape and does not ripple. Finally clear coat everything so that the edge of the decal disappears.
