This set from Trumpeter contains several small models of the Vought F-8 Crusader carrier-based fighter in 1:700 scale. It is used to populate the flight decks and hangars of aircraft carrier kits in the same scale. The parts are injection-molded in plastic.
The Vought F-8 Crusader was a supersonic carrier-based fighter of the US Navy. Its distinctive feature was the variable-incidence wing, which made takeoffs and landings on aircraft carriers easier. In its day it ranked among the important carrier fighters.
The parts are very small at this scale, so use tweezers, a sharp knife and liquid cement for plastic. Clean up the parting lines carefully and spray the models with an airbrush or paint them with a fine brush in thin coats. Handle the tail surfaces and the wings with particular care.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
