A set of small plastic models of the American heavy carrier-based aircraft A-3 Skywarrior in 1:700 scale from Trumpeter. The box contains several aircraft on shared sprues, intended for filling out the deck of a model of a modern aircraft carrier or for a naval diorama in the same scale. The models are miniature and simple to build, with a decal sheet carrying American naval markings.
The A-3 Skywarrior (originally designated A3D) was the largest and heaviest aircraft ever to operate regularly from the decks of American aircraft carriers. It was originally created as a carrier-based strategic bomber able to carry a nuclear load, and later served mainly as an aerial tanker and in the electronic warfare and reconnaissance roles. Its size earned it the nickname Whale among the crews. It stayed in service for decades.
Clean the sprue remnants off the small parts carefully and glue them with a light touch. Given their size, a basic coat with an airbrush, gentle emphasis on the panels and restrained decals are enough. Keep the color scheme of all the pieces the same, so that the deck looks uniform and true to the postwar era.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
