A resin wheel bay for the Soviet fighter MiG-21MF Fishbed-J in 1:32 scale from Aires. This is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory for a kit: a precisely cast interior of the landing gear wells with fine structure of ribs, piping and wiring that the plastic from the box does not have. The set is intended for the MiG-21MF kit from Trumpeter.
On a model with the landing gear exposed, the inside of the bays is clearly visible. Aires replaces the shallow or empty wells from the kit with a finely detailed resin part which, once painted and shaded, considerably raises the realism of the underside of the aircraft. It suits above all a model built with the landing gear down, on a stand or in a diorama.
Resin parts usually need fitting work, so expect to modify (sand down) the walls of the kit according to the instructions. Wash them to remove the mold release agent, separate them from the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); sand with respiratory protection. Paint the bays with an airbrush in the appropriate interior shade and bring out the detail with a wash and dry brushing.
This is a resin detail accessory, not an aircraft model. The MiG-21MF kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
