A resin detailing set from Aires in 1:48 scale. This is not an aircraft model but an accessory — a set of accurately cast pilot seats (late version) for the British Fairey Gannet AS.4 carrier aircraft. The set is intended to improve the plastic kit from Airfix, which you have to have available separately. The seats replace the parts from the basic kit and raise the fidelity of the cockpit.
The Fairey Gannet was a British carrier anti-submarine aircraft of the 1950s, operated from the aircraft carriers of the Royal Navy. It was marked by a characteristic pair of contra-rotating propellers driven by a turboprop powerplant and by a roomy fuselage for the crew and the equipment for anti-submarine work. The AS.4 version was one of the later anti-submarine variants.
For modelers who are building the Airfix Fairey Gannet and want a more faithful cockpit. It calls for basic experience of working with resin. Without the matching basic kit the set has no use on its own.
This is a resin accessory, not a complete model. The basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
