Aires 1:72 exhaust nozzles for the Northrop F-5B Freedom Fighter is a resin detail set, a pair of replacement engine nozzles for the Revell F-5B plastic kit. It is not an airplane model but a part for a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Note: this is not an airplane kit but a resin detail set from Aires. It holds a pair of exhaust nozzles, the rear nozzles of the jet engines, of the Northrop F-5B Freedom Fighter combat trainer. The F-5 is a twin-engine aircraft, which is why the set holds two nozzles. The set is designed to replace the corresponding parts in the plastic kit in 1:72 scale from Revell. You have to have the F-5B base kit of your own.
An exhaust nozzle is the rear opening of a jet engine, through which the exhaust gases leave. The F-5 is powered by a pair of small engines, so it has two separate nozzles side by side. The resin parts offer fine inner detail, the plating and the vanes of the nozzle, which injection-molded plastic cannot manage at this small scale. The nozzles are clearly visible from behind, so even in 1:72 scale they noticeably lift the overall impression of the finished model.
Separate the parts carefully from the casting block with a fine saw or a cutter and clean the faces up. Glue the resin with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), because classic cement for plastic does not bond resin. Wash any mold release agent off the parts before painting. Paint them in metallic shades: the inside of the nozzles has the character of burnt, heat-stained metal (dark steel, scorched and golden tones). In a small scale an airbrush and light accenting help, so that the detail does not get lost.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a complete model. The F-5B base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
