A small resin and 3D-printed kit for more experienced modelers in 1:72 scale from Zebranomodel. It is a gun on its own, which serves superbly as an accessory for a diorama or as a small standalone model. Variant 1 refers to one of the forms that the maker offers of this gun (they differ in the type of carriage and mounting) — when building, go by the instructions of the particular package.
The Hotchkiss 47 mm is a quick-firing gun of French design (Hotchkiss et Cie), originally a naval, anti-torpedo-boat weapon of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. In the First World War a number of these older guns moved to the land front: they were fitted on wheeled carriages and used as trench (fortification) guns for direct support of the infantry in the field. It is exactly that field conversion that this model captures.
First wash any release residue off the parts and separate them from the casting blocks or print supports, then sand the small marks down gently (with your airways protected). Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Because of the small, fragile parts, work with deliberation. Paint with an airbrush in thin layers; bring the metal and wooden parts to life with a wash and drybrushing, and add dust and mud pigments for a field look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
