This set is not an aircraft model but a detailed aftermarket accessory for a kit of the PBY Catalina flying boat in 1:48 scale. The package holds two boarding ladders (steps) for the crew. The accessory adds credibility to a model and serves above all in a diorama where the crew is boarding or leaving the aircraft.

Usage tips

Separate the fine parts carefully and clean them up. Glue them with cyanoacrylate. Degrease the surface and lay down primer before painting, and only then the color. Check the particular fit and placement against your own Catalina kit. We recommend painting the ladder separately from the model and fitting it only once the main painting is done. Bring the metal steps to life with fine wear and a hint of rust so they look used. If you are building a static diorama, you can add a figure of a crew member boarding or leaving to the ladder and the scene will come alive markedly.
