A photo-etched set for adding detail to the cockpit of a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-2/G-4 in 1:32 scale, intended for Revell kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bf 109 G-2 and G-4 belong among the early versions of the most numerous series of this German fighter aircraft. Against the later machines they still have a smooth upper cowling without pronounced bulges and a cockpit with a clearly legible instrument panel. At the large scale of 1:32 the interior of the cockpit is clearly visible through the glazing, so it is worth investing work in it.
The package brings photo-etched parts for adding detail to the cockpit. Photo-etched metal is used precisely where a plastic part could not be thin enough: on the belts, the sheet-metal covers, the brackets and the fine controls. The replaced parts create an impression of depth in the cockpit that sanding and painting cannot substitute for. The set is cut for Revell kits; the instructions give the exact scope of the parts.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with scissors; the metal would otherwise bend. Make the bends in a bending tool or between two blades, so that the edge is sharp and in the right place. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pinhead, not straight from the bottle. Degrease the metal before painting and coat it with a primer intended for metal, because otherwise the paint will come off during handling. The parts of the original plastic part that the photo-etched metal replaces usually have to be sanded away; try it dry first.
For modelers with experience of fine work who build the Bf 109 in a large scale. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
