Heki acrylic paint in a black shade for a model landscape, dioramas and layouts.
Responsibility details are not available.
A real shadow is not black but a darker shade of whatever it lies on. A large area of pure black therefore works on a scene like a hole and draws the eye more than anything around it. As an additive and as a thinned glaze, though, black is irreplaceable: it knocks back a tone that is too lively, gives surfaces depth and pulls out of a relief the detail that would otherwise be lost.
It is an acrylic paint, as follows from the name itself. It is applied with a brush, dries quickly in a thin coat and can be overpainted with further coats. Wash the brushes immediately after work. Thinning, drying time and suitability for an airbrush are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Thinned, it runs into the joints of masonry, between the stones of a retaining wall, into the grooves of paving and into the wheel tracks in a field road, and creates shadow everywhere there. Mixed in a small amount into another color, it subdues its saturation, which is useful with green, which tends to be too fresh once laid on. At full strength black comes into its own on the soot around chimneys, on the mouth of a tunnel portal, on wrought iron railings and on a burnt-out fire pit.
For diorama and layout builders who want to give a scene depth and unify surfaces that are too lively. Work in small doses: black is always easier to add than to take away. The paint alone is supplied. A brush, thinner and the parts to be painted are not included, unless stated otherwise.
