An accessory for diorama building from the range of the German maker Heki, part number 9009. The manufacturer states the details of use on the packaging.
Responsibility details are not available.
A diorama does not stand on the model but on the surroundings that give it meaning. However well a machine is built, it looks like a product until there is a piece of the world around it: the surface it moves over, the growth that touches it, and the small things that tell you the season and the weather. Heki is among the makers who supply this part of modeling work with a whole breadth of materials, from static grass and scatter through foliage and rock foil to modeling compounds and base sheets. The manufacturer states the details of use for this item on the packaging.
First the plan, then the material. Before you reach for anything loose or sticky, mark out on the base where the road will run, where the rise will grow and where an open area should stay. Work goes from the bottom up: first the shape of the terrain, then the color of the base and only at the end the growth and the small details. Every layer has to dry thoroughly, otherwise the next one will not hold on it and the whole surface will buckle. It also pays to work with a reserve of material, because touching up the color afterwards usually no longer matches.
Materials for a diorama do not tolerate damp or pressure. Store them dry, flat and out of direct sun, which takes the saturation out of colors. Close an opened package so that dust cannot get in; loose material is hard to clean once it is soiled.
For modelers who are building a diorama or a scenic base and are looking for material to go into it. Paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
