Zlin XII 1:72 (RS Models) is a plastic kit of the Czechoslovak two-seat sport and liaison aircraft of the 1930s.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat sport and training aircraft Zlin XII in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker RS Models. It is a short-run kit whose decals also cover the Czechoslovak form of the subject. The set tends to be completed with small details for improving the cockpit and the engine section; the particular contents of the package depend on the edition.
The Zlin XII was a low-wing two-seat aircraft of wooden construction, powered by a small inline engine of about 45 horsepower. It came about in the middle of the 1930s in Czechoslovakia and quickly became a favorite machine for sport and liaison flying; over 200 were built, which made it the first notable commercial success of the Zlin brand. The aircraft was built with an open as well as an enclosed canopy.
As with short-run kits, it is advisable to clean the mating surfaces of the parts up, dry-fit the main assemblies as a check and glue the joints with a thin modeling cement for plastic. Apply a filling primer before painting, spray thin layers with an airbrush and prepare a gloss varnish under the decals. The fine wooden and fabric surfaces of the subject come out well with careful picking out of the panels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
