A stencil with a wood grain pattern in 1:35 scale. Through the cut-outs you spray growth rings onto the crates, planks and floors of a diorama.

Wood is visible on a model everywhere there is a crate, a flatbed, a footbridge or a floor, and at the same time it is the hardest thing to paint. Growth rings drawn by hand tend to be either too regular or too wild, and in 1:35 scale both give the brush away. A stencil solves exactly that: the pattern is applied by spraying, it keeps a uniform character and it can be repeated on all the parts of a scene, so that they look as if they came from the same timber.
The name gives a stencil with a wood grain pattern in 1:35 scale. The size of the sheet, the number of motifs and the material do not follow from the name; check them against the illustration on the box and the manufacturer's instructions. Paints, an airbrush and a model are not included.
First apply the base tone of the wood and let it dry. Then lay the stencil on, press it down over its whole area and spray a darker tone through the cut-outs in thin coats. A thick coat turns the pattern into black stripes and the surface stops looking like wood.
The stencil is aimed at builders of dioramas and at modelers who need faithful wood on crates, flatbeds and floors in 1:35 scale. Even a beginner will manage the procedure; just try it out as a rehearsal on a piece of plastic. The model, paints and an airbrush are not included, unless stated otherwise.
