A bare board under an aircraft model always looks empty in a photograph. It lacks what gives a real airfield surface away at first glance: guide lines, the outlines of parking spots, numbers and warning signs. This sheet adds exactly those elements to a scene, and does so without drawing, which no hand-drawn line can match for straightness.
The sheet carries technical markings for airfield surfaces in 1:48 scale. The make-up of the markings and their number are given in the instructions enclosed with the sheet, so go through the contents before building and lay the arrangement out dry on the base; in this scale one parking spot takes up more room than it seems at first glance.
Level the base first and go over it with gloss varnish; on a roughened concrete shade the edges of the motif would stand out. Cut out the marking together with its carrier, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and leave it to stand until it comes free. After sliding it on, bring it into position, draw off the water with a soft cloth and let it dry. Then unify the whole area with matte varnish so that the gloss under the markings disappears. Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version, because a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined.
The decal sheet is supplied on its own. A base, paints, varnish and decal softener are not included, unless stated otherwise.
