A 1:48 masking set for a model of the Il-2, prepared according to the name for a kit from the Zvezda brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Ilyushin Il-2 was a Soviet ground-attack aircraft of the Second World War, and more of them were built than of any other combat machine of the time. Its distinctive feature is the armored section of the fuselage, which protected the engine, the radiators and the pilot while also forming the load-bearing structure. The cockpit has a framed canopy, and on two-seat machines the rear gunner's position is added to it, so there are plenty of frames on the model.
The name ties the set to an Il-2 model in 1:48 scale and gives a product of the Zvezda brand as the target kit. Because this brand offers the Il-2 in more than one version, check the match against the information on the set's packaging. Which areas are covered is stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Wash and degrease the surface before the masks go on, as on a greasy part the edge will not sit down. The masks belong on the model before spraying. Place them with tweezers, press the edges down carefully and apply the paint in several thin coats, so that it does not seep and leave a step on the edge. Remove them once the paint has set, while the finish is not yet fully cured.
The set is for builders of Soviet equipment who want sharp canopy frames without hand lining with a brush. It comes into its own above all with winter and multicolor schemes, when the canopy is covered more than once.
The kit and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
