Wheel chocks for an aircraft in 1:48 scale, version three. The set holds four pieces and a decal.
Responsibility details are not available.
A chock placed under a wheel holds a parked machine in place for the whole time work is going on at it. On an airfield apron they are treated as consumable equipment: they get moved from machine to machine, left at the edge of the apron and tend to be scuffed. For a scene with a model that is rewarding, because it is exactly those details at ground level that tell a display model from a view of operations. Version three differs from the others in the line in shape.
Four chocks and a decal. Decals are usually transferred the wet way: the motif is cut out, dipped in water for a moment and, once free of its carrier, slid onto a dampened spot, where the water is pressed out with a soft cloth. Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version, because a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined beyond repair.
Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; on a smooth, non-absorbent surface cyanoacrylate glue holds more reliably than polystyrene cement. You do not have to use all four chocks at the wheels. One or two set aside, leaning against each other or carried by a figure of a technician, will do a scene more good than four lined up symmetrically. Choose the paint according to the base the model stands on and leave the lower edges dusty, because a chock lies on the ground over its whole face.
The package contains chocks and a decal. The model, figures, a base, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
