A set of masks in 1:72 scale for a model of the MiG-25RBT, intended for the kit from ICM.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-25 is a Soviet twin-engine aircraft built for high speeds and great altitudes; the letters RBT in the designation distinguish one of its reconnaissance versions. The machine has an angular fuselage, a pair of vertical tail surfaces and a relatively small canopy set low between the leading edges of the air intakes. It is exactly that canopy with its pronounced frames that is the place where painting by hand gives itself away fastest. In 1:72 scale one frame measures barely half a millimeter, so even a small straying of the brush is visible on a finished model.
According to the name the masks are intended for the MiG-25RBT kit from ICM in 1:72 scale. The shape of the parts differs between the models of different manufacturers, so the set need not fit another kit. The list and the placing of the individual pieces are supplied by the manufacturer in the instructions. It pays to compare the number of your kit before buying, so that the set matches exactly the version you are building.
Wash the part, degrease it and let it dry completely, or the mask will not hold. It is laid on before spraying, the edges are pressed down along their whole length and the paint is applied in several thin coats, so that it does not run under the edge. On a canopy it is worth spraying the interior shade first and only then the top color, so that the frame has the right tone from inside. Pull the mask off sideways as soon as the paint is dry to the touch, and wipe any sticky trace away with a cotton swab moistened with clean water.
The package contains masks. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
