An imitation of a plank surface for the base of a model of an aircraft of the Second World War in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A finished model of an aircraft always looks a little unfinished on a bare board. It is enough to put a surface under it that recalls the plank floor of a hangar or a walkway grating, and the machine suddenly stands somewhere, not just on a piece of plywood. This accessory imitates such a surface and is intended for the base of a model of an aircraft of the Second World War in 1:72 scale.
It imitates a surface made up of individual planks, that is a pattern with joints and with wood grain, which is hard to paint freehand. The size, the exact way of fixing it and the recommended base are given in the manufacturer's instructions; they also govern whether the surface is laid onto the board whole or divided into pieces. Measure your base before the work, so that you know how much area you need to cover. It is worth keeping the remainder, because the toning of the wood can be tried out on it as a rehearsal.
The base has to be flat, dry and free of dust; every unevenness is visible under a thin surface. Lay out in advance which way the planks should run, because a lengthwise direction visually lengthens the area. If you tone the surface afterwards, work sparingly and plank by plank, so that no two have the same shade. The edges can be covered with a strip or a frame, which hides the edge at the same time. Finally just stand the model on the finished surface, so that it can be taken off if need be.
The package contains the imitation of a plank surface. The model, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
