A set of unpainted figures of Prussian grenadiers of the 1806 campaign in 1:72 scale. It shows the army still before the reforms that followed the defeat: in the uniform cut of the day and with the tall cap that set grenadiers apart from the line infantry. The figures in this range are in soft plastic, on which ordinary polystyrene cement and paint do not hold without preparation.
The Prussian army of 1806 went to war with a reputation as the best in Europe, inherited from Frederick the Great. At Jena and Auerstedt, however, Napoleon broke it in a single day, because outdated tactics and a cumbersome command were no match for French mobility. The grenadiers were elite infantry made up of the tallest and most experienced soldiers and were recognized by their tall cap with a metal plate.
First wash the figures in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry out completely. Then apply a primer intended for soft plastics, or the paint will crack once dry. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Build the blue coat and the white trousers up in layers from shadow to light, and take care over the metal plate on the tall cap, as it is the main recognition feature.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
