Responsibility details are not available.
A set of unpainted figures of American cavalry of the War of Independence in 1:72 scale. Cavalry sets tend to hold fewer figures than infantry ones, because each figure consists of a rider and a horse and takes up substantially more room on the table. The figures are in soft plastic, on which ordinary polystyrene cement and paint do not hold without preparation. That is not a flaw but a property of the material.
Cavalry played a smaller part in the War of Independence than in Europe, because wooded country gave it no room to charge in a close line. It came into its own mainly as light cavalry: reconnaissance, raids on supply columns and pursuit. In the southern campaigns, though, it became a decisive force, because in the more open country of the Carolinas it could at last act on its own.
First wash the figures in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry out completely. Then apply a primer intended for soft plastics. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the rider separately and seat him on the horse only at the end, or you will not reach the saddle and the legs. Vary the coat of the horses between the figures, as uniform coloring looks artificial.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
