Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut painting masks for a model of the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighter in the D-9 version, in 1:48 scale. The masks are cut from kabuki masking tape, that is, from a thin Japanese paper with a low-tack adhesive. The paper can be bent around the curve of the canopy without creasing and leaves no sticky residue when it comes off. The set serves to mask the areas that are not to be sprayed and does not contain a model or paints.
The Fw 190 D-9 was the most widespread version of the so-called long-nosed Dora. It came about by converting what had been a radial-engined machine to the inverted V12 Junkers Jumo 213, that is, an engine with its cylinders set below the crankshaft. Because of it the nose was lengthened, and the tail with it for balance. The result was a machine with better performance at higher altitudes, which entered service in the last year of the war.
Lift the masks off the sheet with the sharp point of a scalpel or with tweezers, not with your fingers. Degrease the glazing before applying them, or the tape will not hold. Press the edges down thoroughly with a toothpick so that no paint runs under them. Spray thin coats and take the mask off while the paint is dry to the touch, not after days of hardening.
The set contains painting masks only. Paints and the model are not included in the package.
