An interchangeable tip for a handle of the same brand. The whole point of the arrangement is that once worn it is not the brush that is thrown away but only the point; the handle stays and the hand gets used to it for good. The hair is synthetic, so it will take water-thinnable paints as well as solvent enamels. An oval stroke carries more paint and suits smooth transitions and areas that have no sharp edge.
Unscrew the front part of the handle, take out the spring and the old tip, put the new one in and tighten the front part back on together with the spring. Do not forget the spring; without it the tip will not seat and will slide inward during a stroke. Moisten a new tip before its first use and bring the oval shape together between your fingers.
Pick the paint up on the end of the hair only, never as far as the root. Paint that runs inside hardens the hair at the root and the shape falls apart; that is precisely what shortens the life of a tip most. After work clean it with the matching thinner, rinse it and let it dry lying flat, not point down.
The package holds the tips only. Neither a handle nor paints are included.
It pays to have several shapes to hand. Swapping one tip between different jobs is a delay, and every change means cleaning, which does the hair no good.
