A wet palette keeps water-thinnable paint workable for several hours: the absorbent layer underneath holds the water, the paper on top lets it through only slowly and the paint on it therefore does not dry out. This product is a mixing paper with higher permeability, that is a consumable that is changed in the palette. The package holds fifty pieces. It is meant for the larger form of wet palette.
Permeable mixing paper lets the moisture through faster than ordinary paper. The paint stays liquid on it longer, which helps with glazes and with shades that are mixed step by step and have to stay workable for the whole session.
Lay the paper into the palette according to its layout and let it soak with clean water; it should soak evenly, not sit in a puddle. When the work is over, take the paper out and let it dry separately, or throw it away if it is saturated with paint. Rinse the palette itself out and leave it open, otherwise damp will stay in it and it will start to go moldy.
A wet palette is meant for water-thinnable paints. Solvent enamels and varnishes do not work on it, because they do not get on with water and will ruin the absorbent paper. Store the papers dry; a damp package sticks together.
Neither the palette itself nor paints are included in the package.
