DSPIAE XSP-1200 self-adhesive abrasive papers

Thirty abrasive papers with a self-adhesive back and a grit of twelve hundred. The paper is stuck onto a sanding pad, a sanding plate or a backing of your own and holds without double-sided tape, which saves time and nerves with small formats. A grit of twelve hundred belongs among the finishing ones: it practically no longer takes material off, it only smooths out the marks left by the coarser steps.

When to reach for them

At the end of the sanding sequence, when the shape is finished and only the surface is at stake. They pay off most before a gloss finish and before a metallic, because it is exactly on those coats that every unsmoothed groove stands out. On matte coats this step tends to be superfluous.

How to work with them

• Clean the face of the sanding pad; the paper will not stick flat onto dust.
• Sanding can be done dry or with water; wet sanding gives a finer result and makes less dust.
• Clean the part before this step, as a grain from a coarser paper will make a groove.
• Rinse a clogged paper and let it dry; it will hold on.
• Work across the previous direction; that way you will see when the old grooves are gone.

Who they are for

The refill is for those who finish a surface before a gloss coat, and for builders of cars, motorcycles and clear parts. The self-adhesive back is an advantage above all on shaped sanding pads, where a loose paper would keep shifting.

Do not breathe the sanding dust; when sanding dry, work with extraction or with a respirator.
