A small injection-molded plastic kit of the T-44 tank from the maker Zvezda in the popular 1:100 scale. It is a snap-fit model with a small number of parts that even a beginner can manage and that goes together without glue. The format is ideal both for collector's display cases and for tabletop wargames.
The T-44 was a Soviet medium tank developed in the second half of the war as a successor to the legendary T-34. It brought a reworked hull layout with a transversely mounted engine and a lower silhouette, and so opened the way to the later T-54 and T-55 types. It barely took part in the fighting of the Second World War and served mainly with reserve and training units.
The parts only need to be broken off the sprue, cleaned up and joined; small joints can be secured with a drop of glue for safety. In this scale a neat airbrushed coat of uniform Soviet green works best, with a fine panel wash and discreet edge highlighting with a dry brush. Overdone effects look coarse on such a small model, so keep the weathering subtle.
This is a snap-fit model; no glue is needed to assemble it. It is supplied unpainted, and paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
