A Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 of the 1969 model year in 1:12 scale is a large Revell plastic kit for modelers who want an American coupe at an honest size.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Revell plastic kit in one of the largest formats made for automobiles. 1:12 moves the build somewhere else than the usual 1:24: the dimensions of the parts allow finer work, but at the same time they mercilessly show up every unfinished seam or unevenness in the paint.
The Z/28 was not created for the showroom but for homologation for the American Trans-Am series, where a ceiling of five liters of displacement applied. Chevrolet therefore put together an eight-cylinder of 302 cubic inches, that is roughly 4.9 liters, from the block and the crankshaft of two different engines. The car was sold with sports stripes, a firmer suspension and discs at the front. The 1969 model year was given a more sharply cut body with flared fender lips and is the most sought-after of the first generation.
Plan the paint ahead: large flat areas need an even coat in several thin layers and sanding between them, otherwise orange peel will appear. The stripes are better masked than put together from decals. Build the chassis and the engine section separately and fit them dry while the position can still be corrected. Set the chrome-plated parts aside so that they are not rubbed.
The box holds parts for assembling and painting yourself. Paints, glue and clear coats are not included and are bought separately.
