This injection-molded plastic kit in the large 1:12 scale from the manufacturer Italeri captures the legendary Lancia Stratos HF Gr.4 rally car in its 1977 Monte Carlo Rally form. It is a new mold with rich contents: besides the plastic parts, the package holds photo-etched parts, chromed parts, metal parts, rubber tires, fabric seat belts and an extensive decal sheet with racing markings and sponsor liveries. Opening doors and front and rear hoods make it possible to show the car from the inside.
The Lancia Stratos HF was the first car designed from the ground up as a competition special for rallying. A compact wedge-shaped body, rear-wheel drive and a mid-mounted six-cylinder engine derived from the Ferrari Dino made it one of the most successful rally cars of the 1970s. In its 1977 form, in its sponsor's colors, the Stratos was among the front-runners of the competition field, and that year's Monte Carlo Rally became one of its famous victories.
On a racing car the gloss finish of the body is the key - apply a primer, the color in several thin coats and finish the surface with a clear coat for a deep gloss. Apply the decals with the sponsor markings over a perfectly glossy surface and seal them with varnish. Bond the photo-etched and chromed parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Finish the detailed engine, the interior and the chassis before you close the body up; do not bond the rubber tires with ordinary cement for plastic.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
