The kit captures the wide-body twin-engine airliner Airbus A300 in the B4-605R (Long Range) version in the classic aircraft scale 1:144, which is the most widespread for airliners. The model is supplied by the maker X-Scale.
The Airbus A300 was the first twin-engine wide-body airliner of all and at the same time the first aircraft of the European Airbus consortium. It offered the airlines an economical twin-engine alternative on medium and longer routes. The A300-600R (B4-605R) version is a modernized variant with extended range, newer avionics and an additional fuel tank in the tail surfaces; the code -605R marks the General Electric engine fit.
Airliners have large smooth surfaces, so fill and sand the joints of the fuselage and the leading edges carefully, so that they do not stand out after spraying. Most liveries are glossy, which is why a good base coat, a smooth glossy ground and a clear coat pay off. Mask the glazing of the cockpit and the rows of cabin windows; apply the livery and the registration as decals onto a perfectly smooth glossy surface, so that silvering does not occur.
