An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Antonov An-6 biplane in 1:144 scale from the Ukrainian maker Amodel. It is a short-run set with a clear part for the glazing and decals. The small scale and the simple construction make it an interesting addition to a collection.
The An-6 was the high-altitude variant of the proven multipurpose An-2 biplane. It was fitted with a supercharged engine for operation at high altitudes and was used above all for meteorological and research measurements in mountainous and high-lying areas. It kept the robustness and the reliability of the base type.
With a short-run set it pays to dry-fit, to clean up flash and mold marks and to fill the seams with filler. Use a thin cement for plastic and a primer. With a biplane, take care that the struts are square and firm; the bracing wires can be added from stretched sprue or rigging thread.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
