An injection-molded plastic kit model of the American strategic bomber Boeing B-52G Stratofortress in 1:144 scale from the Great Wall Hobby company. The smaller 1:144 scale makes sense here - even reduced this far, this eight-engined giant belongs among the large models with a great wingspan. The model captures the B-52G version with its characteristic shortened vertical tail. The later B-52H version is a separate model from the Academy company - the two variants differ above all in the type of engines.
The B-52 Stratofortress is an American eight-engined strategic bomber which first flew in the 1950s and became the backbone of the nuclear strike forces of Strategic Air Command during the Cold War. The B-52G variant introduced the so-called integral wet wing with larger fuel capacity and longer range, a shortened tail and a remotely controlled tail gun. It was powered by eight Pratt and Whitney J57 jet engines. It was the most numerously produced version; the B-52 type remains in American service to this day.
Work with a liquid cement for plastic and take care over the clean seating of the long fuselage and the massive wings. The eight engine nacelles and the landing gear call for careful fitting. Before applying the decals we recommend coating the surface with a gloss varnish and bringing out the panel lines with a fine wash. SAC bombers most often carried natural metal or later camouflage - choose a good base and metallic or matte shades according to the machine you pick.
