An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Beriev Be-10 jet flying boat, which carried the NATO reporting name Mallow. The model from the maker Amodel is short-run in character, contains a clear part for the glazing and photo-etched parts; assembled it measures around 22 cm in length. It is supplied to be glued and painted.
The Beriev Be-10 was a twin-engine jet flying boat developed in the Soviet Union from the mid-1950s as a naval patrol and bomber aircraft. It was one of the few jet flying boats of its day and the machine set several speed and altitude records in its category. Only a small number were built.
Finish the cockpit first and only then close up the hull of the boat. Set the photo-etched parts in place with tweezers and cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Clean the flash off the short-run moldings and dry-fit the parts. The large smooth surfaces of the hull call for careful sanding and a primer, because they give away every irregularity. Apply the metallic shades with an airbrush and accentuate the panel lines with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
