Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the heavy propeller transport aircraft Douglas C-124C Globemaster II in 1:144 scale from Roden. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit captures the later C-124C version, which is set apart from the early C-124A by its characteristic nose radome, wingtip heaters and revised engine cowlings. For the exact contents of the box, go by the enclosed instructions.
The C-124 Globemaster II was an enormous propeller transport with a capacious fuselage, a clamshell nose for loading vehicles and four radial engines; for its slow, sturdy manner it earned the nickname Old Shaky. The C-124C version brought a weather radar in a thimble-shaped nose radome, wingtip heaters for de-icing and heating, and more powerful engines. It was used for strategic transport of heavy equipment in the 1950s and 1960s.
Fill the large fuselage carefully and sand it smooth, and mask the cockpit glazing before spraying. The nose radome and the wingtip heaters are the visual marks of the C version - fit them cleanly. Natural metal surfaces are created with metallic paint over a smooth base, applied only at the end. Washes into the panel lines will pick out the breakdown of the large surfaces.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
