An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary twin-engined piston airliner Douglas DC-3 in 1:144 scale from Roden. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. It is a classic plastic kit with split fuselage halves and wings; for the exact contents of the box and the range of decals, go by the enclosed instructions.
The DC-3 is one of the most significant airliners in history. This twin-engined cantilever low-wing monoplane with radial piston engines and retractable landing gear became the backbone of civil air transport from the middle of the 1930s, and in its military form (as the C-47) a key transport as well. Thanks to its reliability and toughness a number of machines are still flying today, and the aircraft became a symbol of the beginnings of modern aviation.
On the smooth semi-monocoque fuselage, take care to fill the seams cleanly. Polished aluminum surfaces are created with metallic paint over a well-smoothed base, applied only at the end. Mask the cockpit and window glazing before spraying. Lay down a gloss varnish under the airline decals so that they settle without silvering. Pick out the panel lines discreetly with a thin wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
