1:144 F-14D Tomcat is a small kit of the American carrier fighter with its movable wing.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier fighter F-14 in the D version, in 1:144. A small scale means a quick build and a finished model that fits even on a full shelf. With the Tomcat that is interesting, because in larger scales it is a sizeable machine.
The Tomcat was a two-seat carrier fighter with a variable-sweep wing, that is a wing that pivoted in flight according to speed. On a slow approach to the deck it was spread out and offered plenty of lift, while in fast flight it folded back against the fuselage and cut the drag. The D version was the last and the most advanced, with new engines and modernized electronics. The aircraft carried long-range armament, so it could protect a naval force far beyond its own perimeter.
In 1:144 the surface cannot be saved by weathering, so a clean joint and a smooth coat decide everything. Fill the seams carefully and sand them down. Suggesting the cockpit is enough; unlike in larger scales you cannot see much of it. If the set lets you set the wing, decide on the position in advance according to whether you will show the model in flight or parked on the deck.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
