This is a resin, 3D printed kit of the British light tracked reconnaissance vehicle FV-101 Scimitar in the small 1:144 scale. The model is intended for more experienced modelers; thanks to 3D printing it carries surprisingly fine detail of the hull, the turret and the running gear in a small format. It is supplied as a resin kit which has to be cleaned, assembled and painted.
The FV-101 Scimitar belongs to the British CVR(T) family of light tracked vehicles. It serves for reconnaissance and is armed with a rapid-fire cannon. A low silhouette, good mobility and a low ground pressure make it a typical reconnaissance vehicle of the British army, deployed from the 1970s.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut the supports and the casting blocks off and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. In such a small scale a fine airbrush, thin washes into the recesses and restrained edge highlighting stand out; lay the weathering with mud and dust on with restraint only.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
