An injection-molded plastic model of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket from Revell in 1:144 scale. The assembled model is roughly 70 cm tall, so once finished it works as a real centerpiece for a display case. A stand for display and decals are included in the package. It is a rewarding model and a fine gift for space enthusiasts across the generations.
The Space Launch System is the most powerful rocket NASA has built and the main launch vehicle of the Artemis program, which is to return a human crew to the Moon. It consists of an orange core stage with four RS-25 engines and a pair of solid fuel boosters at the sides. At the top it carries the Orion spacecraft. The real rocket stands almost 100 meters tall.
Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic. On the cylindrical body of the rocket, straightness and clean finishing of the seams on the long parts is the key — sand the joints over carefully so that they do not show once painted. In color the model is based on pure white (the boosters and the upper part) and a pronounced orange brown on the core stage; silver and metallic shades bring the engine sections to life. For a smooth gloss surface a primer and an airbrush are recommended; the decals settle onto gloss varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
