A plastic model (a kit) of the Russian Soyuz-2 launch vehicle in 1:144 scale from Zvezda. The box holds injection-molded plastic parts for building the rocket. Thanks to the 1:144 scale it is a rewarding collector's model of space hardware, well suited to vertical display.
The Soyuz-2 is the modern, digitally controlled version of the proven Russian rocket of the Soyuz family, whose roots go back to the R-7 missile. It launches satellites as well as spacecraft and ranks among the most used launch vehicles in the world. Its clustered layout is characteristic: a central stage with four strap-on boosters around it.
The rocket is built mostly from cylindrical sections, so aim for smooth joints that are as invisible as possible: fill the lengthwise seams and sand them flat, because on a plain skin any unevenness shows up clearly. Assemble the model with the vertical position and the stability of the whole in mind. A combination of white and gray suits the color scheme; even surfaces are best laid down with an airbrush. For display, a suitable stand and standing the rocket upright are recommended.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
