The Vickers Super VC10 K3 1:144 (Roden) is a plastic kit of the British RAF tanker aircraft in 1:144 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the British Vickers Super VC10 K3 tanker aircraft in 1:144 scale from Roden. The model represents the four-engined jet converted for in-flight refueling. It comes as injection-molded plastic with a decal sheet; the fuel hoses are not included.
The Vickers Super VC10 K3 was created by converting the Super VC10 airliner into an aerial tanker for the Royal Air Force. Four aircraft converted in this way served for several decades and took part in a number of well known conflicts, among them operations in the Persian Gulf, in the Balkans and in Afghanistan, before they were withdrawn at the beginning of the last decade. A characteristic feature of the type is the four engines mounted at the rear on either side of the fuselage.
In the small 1:144 scale, take care over clean fuselage seams, which should be filled and sanded. Mask the glazing. Given the size, airbrushing works well, and the fine decals should be applied over a glossy base. Glue on the landing gear and the engine nacelles at the end of the build. For the typical look, choose gray and low-visibility RAF shades.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
