This is a metal set from the Polish manufacturer Aber in the large 1:16 scale. It is not a model or a kit: it is an aftermarket accessory combining real steel cable, which looks realistic, with turned and cast brass parts (eyes and brackets). The set serves to reproduce faithfully the tow cables and the track-tensioning cable used on the German Tiger I, King Tiger and Panther tanks.
Steel cable replaces a plastic imitation of rope with a real metal one that hangs correctly and catches the light. The turned and cast eyes on the ends of the cables reproduce the original fittings precisely. The model thus gains one of the most conspicuous external details of German tanks.
Cut the cable to the length needed, lead the ends into the eyes and secure them there, or attach them with a drop of super glue (cyanoacrylate). Glue the metal brackets likewise with super glue or with epoxy. Degrease the parts before painting and apply a primer for metal; the cable can be picked out with a dark wash and graphite for a metallic sheen.
This is a metal accessory for a model. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
